Helene and Great Falls, Montana

Friday, 23 May, 2014

Been a few days so will try to update all on our journey. Yesterday, we spent the morning visiting the sites we could in Yellowstone Park. We saw the "Mud  Bubbles" and other geysers and of course saw a few buffalo on the highway, just taking their time and blocking traffic.

Scary curve.

                                                                     What waterfall?

After leaving the Park, we made haste to get to Helene, MT for the night. After several hours of steady driving,  we were able to get a spot at the Ft Harrison Base for the night.

Ft Harrison is a combination of  all branches of services as a reserve training   base. There are Navy Reserves, Army Reserves, Marine Reserves, Air national Guard and Army Reserves here. Last night there were helicopter training flights until around ten O'clock. NO PHOTO ALLOWED. Security was tighter than other bases I've been on

Today, we drove to Great falls, MT and were able to get a spot for a few days. We spent the afternoon visiting the Great Falls and Rand Dam. Tomorrow we will see more of this city.
